Worry, can play a major part in the start of some illnesses, because it causes an imbalance in the body, and disease takes over.

We all have potential cancer sites all over our body and knocks can wake up a dormant one....I had a friend who was attacked - years ago - and she was knocked badly on one breast. She died with breast cancer....but then she could have done so without the knock I suppose.

If it is in your genes, then no amount of thought can bring it about can it ?

Positive thoughts can cure, we have seen this even on this forum - but I am reminded here of the practice in Africa when a person is cursed, and death ensues.....because the thoughts and fears have been so strong, death has been accepted as the only outcome. There are people who play mind games with others even in this country.....and cause as much mischief as they can, if the person they are trying to 'control' is not aware of it.

The mind is a powerful tool and used in the right way can create mini-miracles.... as well as bring harmful scenarios to bear.....and we are taught that thoughts are real things that once given 'form,' wing their way out into the universe.

I am always a little suspect of anything channeled Mac unless the medium or whatever, is totally 'out of it' and in deep trance. Then the words that come through do not have a semblance of their own identity interfering with the prodecure.....and you really can tell the difference.

I would like to add here Brahma Kumaris' thought for the day that has just been sent to me, because I think perhaps that it is a little relevant to this thread....

Lighten Up
When someone lightens up your life just by their presence, you can be sure they are emitting a very positive energy. When someone puts a damper on the meeting or a conversation, you can be sure there is some hidden inner baggage which contains sorrow and darkness. Which do you bring to the party? A little light or a little dark? A lot of optimism or a little pessimism? In olden days, before one switch could illuminate a whole city, one candle had to be lit by another. So if you are aware that you are carrying a little darkness, perhaps it may be useful to spend time with someone whose inner light is already lit, and stays lit in all circumstances. Eventually we may learn the art ourselves, and then serve as a candle to others.

By thinking that way....we are giving the thumbs up to correct thinking in a very positive way..... http://img331.imageshack.us/img331/8571/133yz.gif .

Mind over matter......

Zaira,

I've had a busy day in the garden, and I'm tired, and it's nearly midnight, but I will try to explain. I have joined a medium/psychic forum to try to understand why people seem to need to believe in the next world, messages from the dead, spirit energy or whatever. Actually, in the 3 days or so I've been a member, it strikes me as quite a sensible place. That's not really what I mean. There are some down-to-earth people there. I have posted what I hope have been helpful things to people who have real, non-psychic, problems. The site strikes me as rather more sensible than the other one we talked about, but that is just my opinion.

But the post is from that site, and I just don't understand what the poster is all about. The mind cannot heal ingrowing toe-nails, cataracts, gout (my problem), tinnitus (also mine), heart disease, cancer, or anything else. In my opinion. That is not to say that a positive-thinking approach will not help a sufferer deal with his/her problem.

I must leave it there. I will PM you the address of the site.

Gorra go, :smiley:pet. (Geordie expression).

Sorry if this does not answer your question.
