Remember that by the time a crystal comes into your life it has been handle by many and therefore will carry their energy so that crystal needs a good cleanse, depending on the type of crystal you have you should cleanse either by standing them in warm water with a good measure of sea salt for a week if you intend their use for healing, however some crystals do not like water or salt, in which case you can smudge them, use white sage and offer the crystal through the smoke,you can then energies by standing the crystals in the sun for 12 hours,there are other methods of cleansing but as I say it depends on your crystals.
